18K Gold Plated over 316L Stainless Steel
18k gold plating is a method of depositing a thin layer of gold to the top of a 316L stainless steel metal. Our 18K gold plated jewelry is high grade 316L stainless steel (unless otherwise stated, which doesn't rust, fade, tarnish or turn skin green.) 316L grade is nickel free, lead free and cadmium free. Moreover, Stainless Steel in its original color (silver) is water resistant and doesn't tarnish. These pieces make great investment over time.
Gold Plated /Gold Dipped
Gold plated or gold dipped pieces means that a layer of gold is attached to the surface of base metal such as brass. Showering with gold plated jewelry can eventually cause the gold layer to wear off completely, therefore you should definitely refrain from doing so. Gold-plated jewelry should be wiped down with a microfiber cloth after every use to remove smudges and surface soil.
Sterling Silver Showering with sterling silver jewelry on should not harm the metal, there is a good chance that it could induce tarnishing. Waters that contain chlorine, salts, or harsh chemicals will affect the look of your sterling silver. Its always recommended that you do not get our jewelry pieces wet.
Rhodium Plated over brass
Rhodium plating is a good recommendation for customers who are allergic to silver, as it will protect them from direct contact.Frequent contact with water makes the rhodium coat deteriorate faster. As a result, you should remove rhodium-plated jewelry before washing your hands, showering, or swimming. If you do get your rhodium-plated jewelry wet, be sure to dry it off immediately and store it in a cool, dry place.
